Teamwork Makes the Dream Work for AISD Administrators!

Yesterday, about 450 AISD administrators, including principals, assistant principals and central office staff, joined me to kick off the new school year at the district's Administrator Institute. Anderson High School hosted this year's event, which included performances by band members, dancers, cheerleaders and even the award-winning Trojan mascot, who helped me emphasize the district's many achievements in 2011-12.

Much of the morning's agenda was devoted to examining district data and outcomes, which helps us develop plans for the coming school year. The Administrator Institute also provided a great opportunity to welcome new staff and announce new initiatives, including the AISD Attendance Incentive Program in partnership with the University of Texas.

Speaking of UT, strength coach and motivational speaker Donny Maib was on hand to pump up the audience before we broke into smaller groups during the afternoon's team-building exercises.

Thank you to the students and staff of Anderson High, and to all of Team AISD. As you can see, the 2012-13 school year is off to a thrilling start!
