South Korea Educators Visit AISD!
AISD welcomed a wonderful group of teachers and visitors from South Korea today. They're here to learn about public education in Texas and the United States.
Of course, they're interested in seeing our Academy for Global Studies at Stephen F. Austin High School. Principal Lucio Calzada was on hand to share all of Austin High's great work. Above, our Board of Trustees' President Mark Williams is speaking about our curriculum emphasis on globalization and college, career, and life readiness.
The Academy for Global Studies is a program providing an internationally-focused curriculum to a close-knit community of learners. Each year, 140 freshmen join the AGS family to undertake a course of study that highlights the interrelatedness and connections among world regions that combine to shape our increasingly global society. Students explore cultural traditions both on the world and local scales, while building their own culture as AGS students within the larger Austin High School community.
