Amazing Family FUN Night at Bedichek

Last night, Bedichek Middle School hosted a Family Fun Night organized by Principal Intern Donald Tosh. In the past few months, Bedichek has had great difficulty with parent involvement - only 3-5 people attending the monthly PTA meetings.

Last night, Bedichek had a tremendous turnout - approximately 400 people attending the school's Family Fun Night! Parents and students came together to play bingo, sing karaoke, play math games, participate in a cake walk, receive a CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health Program) healthy meal, to be entertained by Bedichek's Mariachis and Junior Marines, and to learn how to use ParentConnection.

ParentConnection is an incredible parent involvement tool that allows you to view your child’s assignments, current grades, and attendance from any computer with Internet access. You can also request a notification by email if your child’s attendance or grades drop to a specific threshold. Parents who have questions about accessing ParentConnection may contact the service’s facilitator at their child’s campus.

Hundreds of dollars worth of prizes were donated by local businesses for the school's raffle, including a new bicycle.

Bedichek's Family Fun Night was so successful that the campus is already discussing hosting another Family Fun Night this Spring.

Congratulations to Mr. Tosh, who clearly tapped into the vast talents of Bedichek's staff and students to organize an event that will be remembered for months to come. Amazing!
