Our amazing Paredes Middle School Escolta (Color Guard) students kicked off the Hispanic Furures Conference. Thank you to the organizers — staff of AISD (especially Raul Alvarez), City of Austin, and Austin Energy. There were featured speakers (Attorney Ben DeLeon and LBJ graduate Sineria Ordonez).By the way, Sineria (in photo) is a very passionate speaker who cares deeply about the future of Hispanic youth. I hope she will be a lawyer (or a teacher!) after she graduates from Texas A&M.
Thanks to the principals of LASA and LBJ for letting us use their building and classrooms. I attended the breakout sessions too with our students and parents. It was a great morning!
